Nicole Seckman Jilek is a partner in the litigation department.  Ms. Jilek is a trial attorney focusing her practice on civil litigation including trust and estate, real estate, business and commercial, personal injury, and employment litigation.  She also counsel clients on various employment related matters.  Additionally, she has extensive experience defending professional negligence claims and claims regarding professional licenses.

Ms. Jilek is frequently engaged by families to resolve issues related to trusts and estates and is familiar with litigation in probate court.  She has assisted clients removing people serving in fiduciary capacities as trustees and personal representatives.  She has also represented clients contesting the validity of wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents.    She works with families to resolve disputes related to the distribution of assets inherited from their loved ones.

Ms. Jilek provides representation to her clients throughout the entire state of Nebraska and in federal courts.  She also handles appeals before the Nebraska Court of Appeals and Nebraska Supreme Court.  Whether before a trial court, appellate court, or mediator, Ms. Jilek strives to be a zealous advocate for her clients. 

Ms. Jilek received her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004.  She was a Regents Scholar, graduated from the Honors Program, and attended the Nebraska at Oxford study abroad program.  She completed minors in Mathematics, Political Science, and Economics.  Ms. Jilek received her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2007.  Ms. Jilek is a 2013 graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy:  The Complete Advocate – Trial Skills program.

Ms. Jilek is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association.  She was selected to participate in the Nebraska State Bar Association’s 2012-2013 Leadership Academy.  Since 2010, she has served on the Executive Board of the Robert M. Spire American Inns of Court, a group of judges and trial lawyers who meet monthly to promote professionalism, civility, and ethics.  Ms. Jilek is the President of the Inns of Court for the 2018-2019 year.

Ms. Jilek is a 2013 Ten Outstanding Young Omahans (TOYO!) recipient.  She is a past President of the Omaha Jaycees and served on the Jaycees executive board from 2013-2016.
