Change in Special Needs Planning

An individual with special needs can now unilaterally create a self-settled, first party needs trust ("SNT") due to President Obama's signing of the 21st Century Cures Act ("Act") on December 13, 2016. This important change removes a significant hurdle from the path of individuals who have special needs but who also have the mental capacity to form their own SNT. If you have questions or would like to discuss special needs planning, please contact any of the following attorneys who specialize in this area: Howard Kaslow, John Herdzina, Thomas Malicki, or Andrew Deaver.

John Herdzina, Jennifer Rattner, and Katie Glissman presented at Operation Boots to Business workshops at Offutt Airforce Base

Each presentation centered around the legal issues impacting veteran-owned businesses.

Katie Glissman married Garth Glissman at St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Omaha, Nebraska.

Although both Nebraska natives, Katie and Garth recently moved to New York City for Garth’s job. Katie continues to work full time for AKC, splitting time between New York and our office in Omaha. Technology and direct flights from New York allow Katie to serve our clients just as before, the only change being a new last name!
