ENGAGE

ENGAGE was established by Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP in 2007 as a way to connect our female attorneys with our female clients. Over the years, ENGAGE has expanded as a way to connect our female attorneys and clients to other professional women in the Omaha community. The focus of ENGAGE is to help women connect with one another and improve their leadership skills.

Past ENGAGE Events:

ENGAGE | The Most Important Brand: You

Do you think of yourself as a brand? If you aren't controlling your own brand, then everyone else is. Are you okay with that?

Your brand is every bit as important to your success as Coke's and Levi's brands are to them. Don't leave your brand to be decided by others.

Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP hosted a discussion on The Most Important Brand: You, an interactive ENGAGE luncheon on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 featuring Robin Donovan, President of Bozell. Robin has been an innovator and leader in the advertising industry for over 35 years.

This ENGAGE event seeked to help women in today's workforce "tip the scale" in their favor through personal branding.

ENGAGE | Leadership From the Inside Out

Leadership is creating outcomes that matter, and is not a coat of skills we put on, but a way of being we develop.

Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP hosted an interactive ENGAGE event in November 16, 2017 discussing Leadership From the Inside Out. This experience was led by Pam Hernandez, founder of The Right Reflection.

ENGAGE | How to be Approachable and Authoritative

"The female gender role is based on the stereotype that women are nice and kind and compassionate," says social psychologist Alice Eagly. By contrast, she says, "in a leadership role, one is expected to take charge and sometimes at least to demonstrate toughness, make tough decisions, be very assertive in bringing an organization forward, sometimes fire people for cause, etc."

So what's a woman to do? Be nice and kind and friendly, as our gender stereotypes about women require? Or be tough and decisive, as our stereotypes about leadership demand? To be one is to be seen as nice, but weak. To be the other is to be seen as competent, but unlikable.

Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP hosted an interactive ENGAGE event on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 discussing how to be approachable and authoritative. This experience was led by Pam Hernandez, founder of The Right Reflection.

ENGAGE | The Art of Conversation

Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP hosted an interactive ENGAGE event on November 10, 2016 to explore the art of conversation. This experience was led by Stuart Chittenden, founder of Squishtalks.

We all desire relationships of belonging and a sense of purpose beyond ourselves. Without authentic conversation people are unable to establish meaningful, sustainable connections or to grow with intention. In this interactive session, you will move beyond superficial chit chat, snappy electronic dialogue or sterile techniques of communication. Instead, you will explore the principles and practices of conversation, considering its benefits, the attitudes and approaches that help or hinder it and, of course, putting those principles into practice. This is a session for curious, open-minded individuals, who want to live better and work well. Discover your art of conversation.
