ENGAGE with Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP

ENGAGE was established by Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP in 2007 as a way to connect our female attorneys with our female clients. Over the years, ENGAGE has expanded as a way to connect our female attorneys and clients to other professional women in the Omaha community. The focus of ENGAGE is to help women connect with one another and improve their leadership skills.

In 2016, Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP hosted two ENGAGE events. The first was an interactive event featuring a panel of four professional women from the Omaha community, with varying backgrounds and experiences, who engaged our guests in a conversation about leadership. The event was hosted at Biaggi's, and was attended by over 50 women. At the second ENGAGE event, hosted at Noah's Event Venue, speaker Stuart Chittenden, founder of Squishtalks, explored the Art of Conversation with over 60 women in attendance.

For 2017, Abrahams Kaslow & Cassman LLP is partnering with Pam Hernandez, founder of The Right Reflection and former Chief Operating Officer of WoodmenLife, for two interactive ENGAGE events. On May 2, 2017, Pam Hernandez will lead a discussion on how to be both approachable and authoritative. "The female gender role is based on the stereotype that women are nice and kind and compassionate," says social psychologist Alice Eagly. By contrast, she says, "in a leadership role, one is expected to take charge and sometimes at least to demonstrate toughness, make tough decisions, be very assertive in bringing an organization forward, sometimes fire people for cause, etc." So what's a woman to do? Ms. Hernandez will offer ENGAGE attendees ways to navigate through these stereotypes, to help women become the leaders and professionals they desire to be while remaining authentic to themselves and the qualities they possess.

The second ENGAGE event with Ms. Hernandez will be in November 2017.
